This past weekend, we celebrated our baby boy with family and close friends at one of our favorite restaurants in our neighborhood in Boston, Row 34. Walking into this baby shower, I was blown away by every single detail and have never felt luckier to have the best parents, in-laws, friends, and family to share our excitement with. From the flowers from Laura Jean Floral, to the handmade desserts from my grandmother, everything was beyond beautiful and so thoughtful. I can’t thank my Mom and Mother-in-law enough for throwing the most memorable shower. Below I’m sharing details on the venue, decor, and some of my favorite photos from the day.
Greg and I have been living in Boston’s Seaport area for about four years now and we probably couldn’t count how many times we’ve eaten at Row 34. It is not only one of our favorite date night spots, but is also one of our favorite places to bring friends, family, and to host events. Besides the delicious food and great staff, I love the industrial feel so when we started planning our baby shower, I immediately thought of Row 34.
It’s no surprise that my love for design came from my Mom after seeing the details of this shower. While this might look like something I planned, I gave zero direction except for ‘don’t go crazy’ knowing she would want to go above and beyond. My Mom worked with Laura Jean Floral on the table arrangements which were absolutely stunning and came up with the cute ‘Watch me grow’ succulent favor display for our guests. My Mother-in-law created the amazing diaper cake seen in the first photo which went great with the rustic greenery theme and was the highlight of the dessert table. From the place cards, to centerpieces, to wood chargers on the dessert table, every detail was perfect and exactly what I would’ve chosen if I planned this myself.
One of the biggest surprises of the shower was seeing my favorite cookies that my Grandmother makes spread out on the dessert table. Someone asked halfway through the shower which bakery made the desserts and I was so proud to say everything came from my Grandma’s kitchen. At 83 years old, she not only looks half her age (see picture above) but she can crank out enough cookies for an entire shower and then some.
I wish I could relive this day because it truly was so special. I’ve never been a big fan of showers and passed on having a bridal shower when Greg and I got married but I’m so happy we decided to celebrate our little man. Thank you to all our friends and family from near and far for being here this past weekend. Here’s to the last 9 weeks as just us three!
