With only one month left to go until baby #2 arrives, we needed to move quickly on getting prepared. Since I am having another boy, I did very little shopping this time around as we already have a lot our bases covered. We did, however, need some key pieces to accomodate a second child; additional car seat, double stroller, etc. I visited Tadpole in the South End of Boston when I was pregnant with Callahan and was so impressed with their equipment knowledge and car seat expertise, I knew I wanted to get all of my shopping done with them this time around.

I love our Bugaboo Fox Stroller that we use for Cal, however, it does not convert into a double stroller. I was in search of a stroller system that would accomodate both boys at each stage so I set up a call with Ana at Tadpole to explore our options. I am still a huge Bugaboo fan and prefer the Fox over the Uppababy Vista, however, the Bugaboo Donkey (Bugaboo’s double stroller) is a side-by-side system which makes it a lot wider, harder to fold, store, and navigate through doors. After speaking with Ana, and listening to the pros and cons of each brand and option, we decided to go with the Uppababy Vista 2. Cal’s infant car seat, the Nuna Turtle, only worked with the Bugaboo Fox so we had to order a new car seat as well. Ana recommended the Nuna Pipa Lite Rx. We also ordered an additional toddler car seat and are huge fans of the Clek Foonf convertible seat as it is one of the safest options that is crash tested.

Aside from their expertise, Tadpole’s customer service is a 10/10 which is what drew me back to working with them. They are super responsive, kept me posted on anything backordered, and even shifted things around to make sure I had what I needed before my due date if it wasn’t set to come in on time. And, it doesn’t hurt that they offer FREE car seat installation and stroller assembly!

I also love being able to shop small, especially for baby gear, as there are so many questions you’ll have along the way and you’ll want a trusted resource to lean on. Even doing your own research online will give you 10 different answers to the same question.
