Why the change?
As some of you know, I started A Styled Affair as a design and styling business mostly focused on weddings. After planning and designing weddings for two years, I quickly realized I always gravitated toward the style and fashion of the big day. Through my wedding posts, my passion for clothes, trends, and destinations, started to seep through and become more of the focus of my blog. Before I knew it, A Styled Affair became a place for me to share my style, beauty, decor, and travel tips.
Without ever really announcing that I was making the change from the wedding business to the blogging business, A Styled Affair organically relaunched into a new focus. Since this is not my full time job, time flew by before I could catch my blog up to my new vision. After sitting down with a fellow blogger (shout out to The Millennial Miss!), I realized in order to make this real, I needed to put in the effort to give A Styled Affair the new look and update it deserved. After working with Emma Kunz on my rebrand and redesign, I'm excited to share a space that reflects all things A Styled Affair and all things me.
A little about me...
I never get too personal on my blog or social media pages and my hope is to change that moving forward. While I don't think I'll ever be one to share every single detail of my personal life, I do understand the importance of letting you all get to know me...even if it's taking baby steps like writing this post.
Since I can remember, I have always loved fashion and have been constantly reinventing my personal style. This has gotten me some interesting looks when I'm a little too ahead of the times with new trends but also gives me satisfaction when I see those trends on everyone a year later :) Point being, I love, more than anything, taking new trends and making them my own. I'm a huge believer in dressing for your mood and letting your style represent who you are in that moment.
At home
While he makes very rare appearances in my posts, my husband Greg is usually the man behind the camera and the reason I'm able to make this blog work along with a full time job. He has been so supportive and accommodating to the (sometimes) ridiculous demands of the blogging world. If you've ever watched that video 'Instagram Husbands,' it sadly couldn't be more accurate. Regardless, Greg has been a trooper and I owe a lot of this blog's success to him. We have been married for three years and are dog parents to our cutie-pie rescue dog, Bowen. If you follow my Instagram you've probably seen him make a few cameos. You probably also saw that Greg and I recently made Boston our permanent home again. After living in the Seaport for a few years, we realized we wanted to make it more permanent. We move in two weeks and are excited to make our new place a home. Stay tuned because I will definitely be sharing pics!
What's next?
With the relaunch of A Styled Affair, I hope that you find it easier to shop my style, learn about my recent travels, and take a peek into my home for decor inspo. While this is a personal blog and a place for me to share my thoughts with you, my door (inbox) is always open! I would love to hear from you and get to know YOU as well. If there are things you want me to write about or post about, or even shop for, don't be shy. I'm always open to hearing your thoughts!
To end this long post (apologies!), I hope you enjoy the new A Styled Affair and I look forward to sharing more in the next few weeks!
