Last weekend, Greg and I celebrated our first wedding anniversary. When deciding where to celebrate, we immediately thought to return to the place we said "I do," in beautiful Newport, RI. Luckily, our anniversary fell on Labor Day weekend this year, so we were able to turn our quick getaway into an extended stay.
We arrived Friday to our quaint little cottage we rented on Airbnb. It was our first time using the site and it did not disappoint! This cottage was in the perfect location, situated in between downtown and the beach, which made it easy to walk everywhere. They also allowed us to bring our dog Bowen so we could celebrate as a family.
I left most of the planning to Greg and he managed to surprise me every day. While we have spent a lot of time in the area and have experienced many of the local activities and restaurants Newport has to offer, he did his research and found new places and things to do to make our weekend extra special. From a private sunset sail, to a spa day at the Hotel Viking, and a dinner reservation at a hidden gem, our weekend was filled with new experiences and memories.
